Looked at loads of different brands and prices and reviews. Just want a pedal that will keep me from slipping wont blow-up or crunch the bearings (that will last for a year or two). I've some Shimano AM40 shoes so now I just want the pedals to match. Though theres nothing better than to put it out to you who use them.
Cheers

try shimano dx's. put the supplied longpins in and the grip is superb. they run on the same axles as the spd's so durabilitly is great. had mine about a year and a half if not longer and they still run smoothas silk. they suit big feet too as im size 11 and have never had any probs

Just buy the mg-1, the gussets look to be another re-branded wellgo effort.

The mg-1 are light, strong and cheap and very grippy. For more expensive tartiness try the easton flatboys, straightline or the burgtec ones.

    they are very nice though...

the mg-1 are fantastic, so cheap and light. I'm thinking of getting the Ti axles for both of my sets.

Are the MG1 as good as the DMR V12 Mag?

The MG1 description say they are not as strong as the alloy pedals but DMR claim their Magnesium pedals are lighter but just as strong.

I was hoping on some V12 Mags for my Birthday. :D

The MG1s are cast mag, I think the V12s may be forged, which is a bit stronger- though tbh no lightweight magnesium alloy is particularily strong. MGs are strong enough for most people I reckon, I'm an occasional clumsy pedal smacker and mine are still good as new but if you're a constant rock breaker a lightweight pedal probably isn't for you.

They are ace though, light and cheap. Can't recommend them too highly.
