Shame we only started chatting a few hundred yards before our routes split. As I said I was on my way to the in-laws so I doubt if our paths will cross very often, my normal route is the A23 (E&C, Kennington, Brixton, Streatham).

I was aware of you for quite a while before we spoke. I thought, quite a powerful chap on a nice bike, he'll come round me soon and you did, but were you drafting me for a while? And then when you passed me were you expecting me to tuck in your wheel? No problem with that, in fact If you were drafting I think I can take that as a compliment. If not, sizing me up for a scalp? I know we did mention the unmentionable SCR.

Maybe speak again another day. Take care.

"What happens when the hammer goes down, kids?"
    "It stays down, Daddy."

Nice to meet you as well as well!

I was going to pass you but you were in DeVer shorts... Its near impossible to overtake a person in DeVer kit and stay ahead and I didn't want that yesterday. I was also studying your pedal technique. It was very solid, very steady and very good - I learned a quite a bit.

I wouldn't say I was drafting (given my comments in the other thread), you were holding a really steady pace so I kept to the right of you (plus didn't want to overtake - see above). I was purposely in your view so you knew I was there but purposely blocking any vehicle that you couldn't see from overtaking (unless they did so leaving a lot of room), that way if you had to go round a bus/parked car or something, I would already be moveing out, protecting you.

I was expecting you to tuck behind me... :D

Was a shame that you had to turn off and I had to go straight. Definantly hope to see you again. It was fun! Take care!

A true scalp is not only overtaking someone but leaving them stopped at a set of lights. As you, who have clearly beaten the lights, pummels nothing but the open air ahead. ~ 'DondaddyD'. Player of the Unspoken Game
