Dear all, I seek your opinions on the most 'bang for buck' upgrade after wheels have been seen to - in terms of weight reduction and general rideability.

My thought would be saddle /seat post, given that this is the main contact point - any other views????

I'm looking to gradually upgrade stuff as money becomes available.

Tyres and tubes - before wheels if you're looking for bank for buck - for both weight and ride.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

    +1 to tyres & tubes...

Also brake pads - poss Kool Stop or Swiss Stops.
Plenty of bang-for-buck - brake later, more controlled braking... ...and possibly the added bonus of stopping before you hit something, rather than because you hit something.

    Thanks.

I've done a tyre/tube upgrade recently to a pair of continental unltra gatorskins with conti tubes.

And going on this week will be a pair of 105 brakes (calipers not levers), so I might investigate the standard pads and see if they need an upgrade.

Go for Koolstop or Swiss Stops as the Shimano standard brake pads are pants.
