Hi all,

I'll be going over to France next week to watch a bit of the tour, and do a bit of climbing in the Alps. I'll be flying in to Geneva with my bike box and one peice of luggage, and wondered if anyone's got any tips on the easiest and cheapest way to get to Samoens from the airport. I understand it's about 1 hour away by car.

Taxi, bus or train?

Thanks

Taxi is expensive. I was quoted 200EUR to Morzine. Samoens is a bit further.

There's no train unless you try to go as far as Cluses and get a taxi/bus from there.

So you're best option is bus. Can't seem to find the info on here, but I'm fairly sure there's a regular service, but might need a change. (from Airport or centre of town). It's cheap and I didn't have any problem putting a bike on (but that could be down to driver).

Thanks for the reply and yes I have already heard about the SAT buses but forgot to mention in the original post. That looks like it could be my best option. I can also get to Taninges and get picked up from there by friends staying in Samoens. I think it's about 11km away. Thanks for the tips.

p.s. I guess it'll be relatively easy to find a SAT desk at the airport once I've picked up my luggage?

Trip went very well but the SAT buses were not running at all from Geneva airport, as apparently they don't run in the summer. Ended up getting a taxi for €140 Euros. Return trip was easier as a friend dropped me at Annemasse SNCF and I paid €70 for a taxi back to Geneva.
