Check out the ALDI specials next week for some bargain basement cycling stuff- if you are right down at the bottom of the cycling food chain (like me)- these might be for you.
Am tempted by the computer but not sure how c**p they are really going to be.
B***er me! It's a heart rate monitor as well.

People seem to have been happy with them and might get one myself.0

the computer is rubbish!
I fitted one & it stopped working at any speed over 17 mph (so not often as it was on the SS)!
Though............. if they are selling them again I might take it back!0 -

First one stopped working after a month or so. Number 2 "drowned" after a particular damp sportive...
Bought a decent computer after that
Thanks for that both of you
Near miss then and will stick with the Lidl,s one I have at the mo, just the HM has stopped working
Every thing else is fine.
Checked it with Sports tracker and it sames to be stop on.0 -
I think that Lidl and Aldi use the same supplier for their computers, they look very similar to me. I bought an Aldi hr/bike computer, and it's always worked fine, as far as it goes. The problem is that like many cheap bike computers with hr monitors, it can be influenced by electric cables, even underground ones..and you could be gunning it up a hill and your readout sez youre asleep!. The other thing is that it has a very short range, so just moving about on the saddle and occasionally sitting up my hr monitor loses contact with the bike computer. If you're long n lanky you might not get a reading at all! Also, you can look a bit dodgy to casual passers-by, licking your fingers and sticking your hand down your top to wet the contacts...look at that bloke in lycra playing with his nipples....perv
I gave up on mine and now just use the bike puter functions, which have always worked fine for me.

I have been using an aldi cheepo for 2+ years now. hr monitor fine - but there are subtle differences in distance travelled compared with google maps - not sure which is the most accurate but for £12 I think it's done me okay.0

Don't even think about getting the double-cylinder footpump. Mine lasted 2 mins.
I did buy one of the computers and sold it on Ebay for £30 which was nice...0 -
If it's a wireless computer on offer I'd stay well clear. Had the wired one and that worked fine until I somehow contrived to detach the wire, whereas the wireless one has never worked properly.0

Bought the £13 odometer with heart rate monitor, plus the double cyclinder footpump about a year ago... Sometimes the speedo needs a function change or two to suddenly realise I have hit the road, the pump still does the business on the car tyres and the odd top-up of the inner tubes.================

Proper track pump is the way to go, cheap as chips these days. My puter is wireless, though I've never had a problem with normal functions. The only thing I dislike about it is that I have to reset it every time I want to set journey to zero. I'm sure theres a way to do this but I'll be buggered if I can figure it out!
