Have run Marathon's for a couple of years for commuting and 1 tour of the Alps, been brilliant. Now thinking of a lighter option, maybe have a few more punctures but go further. Looked at the marathon racer, thought of a 35 on the back and a 30 on the front. Would the 2 different sizes cause problems.

I can't see why that should cause a problem. But I'm curious as to why you'd put the wider tyre at the back. I'd have thought if anything a wider tyre at the front to offer more protection against road vibration on the wrists and arms.
