Does anyone own a Scott ltd bike ie genius ltd spark ltd?
Can somebody tell me what makes them worth 7 big ones and 4 big ones, i cannot for the life of me justify the price of that bike. It has the crank bros eggbeaters ti on them and there like 300 pound. Reading the bikes spec i just think it looks overdone a little (a lot). Any one share the point of view?

That's like saying i want a door for my car that doesn't meet the roof, because I once had the wind blow it shut when I was getting in, and I had my head squished between, well, the door and the roof.

Well obviously it's overkill for the average person, but when you're racing professionally and every gram counts then you do whatever you can to get the edge.

Overdone is what way - price or spec?
The bikes are built on extremely light carbon frames, high end strong components which equal’s lots of money.

There are lower models of the Genius and Spark you can buy, you don't have to buy the most expensive one ;)

A break down of some of the items on the Genius Ltd

    Frame : £2,000 (Scott Genius 10 Frame)
    Fork - DT Swiss EXC 150 : £810
    Shock - Scott Equalizer 2 : £500
    Rims - DT Swiss XRC 330 : £500 each (£1000)
    Crankset - Truvativ Noir 3.3 : £400
    Hub front - DT Swiss 240s : £180
    Hub Rear - DT Swiss 240s : £300
    Brakes - Formula R1 Carbon : £450
    Shifters - SRAM X0 : £180
    Rear Derailleur - SRAM X0 : £160
    Pedals : Crankbrothers EggB Ti4 : £320
    Saddle - Fizik Tundra Carbon : £120

    Slightly over £6k
without seat post, spokes, handle bar, chain, stem, tyres, headset, front Derailleur etc

It's the lightest production 150mm bike in the world so I guess they charge pretty much what they like

It's the very cutting edge of Scott's technology. You could argue that companies like Ferrari, BMW or Mercedes shouldn't be blowing obscene amounts of money on F1 racing, but eventually that technology filters down into high end road cars and from there into everyday family cars. It's a technical exercise as much as anything and eventually we all benefit from it. Scott are just saying if you can afford it, you can have one now!

If I think a bit on the Genius LTD compared to mine, then the Genius has 2 shock
absorbers, 50mm more travel than mine, everything is more adjustable, brakes are
more powerfull, tires are probably more grippier, it accelerates faster, the bike is
stronger than mine and still is 3kg (6.6lbs) lighter than my hardtail.

    Every penny worthed.
