Is the Specialized BG glove the only way to go to reduce road vibration?

I use it on the MTB. For the road, I recommend no gloves (or gloves with no padding) and thicker or double cork on handlebar.

    Many people swear by them.

Mine fell apart after about 100 miles
None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.

I really like my BG Comps. I've taken to sticking them in the washer frequently and so far they are holding up fine.

I have 4 different pairs of Spesh BG gloves, wash them after every ride and no sign of any of them coming apart. Not sure if there's anything better out there, my hands still ache after 3 or 4 hours (have the Spesh gel bar pad things to).

+1 for these! Done 600 miles in them so far and not a single issue with them. Also did the Mcr - Blackpool ride and had no pain or discomfort at any point and some of the road surfaces were a little on the poor side!

I bought these on the offchance, thinking what is there to lose at that price? They are in fact superb. Really comfortable and good padding on the palm/Ulnea nerve area.

Well I got the Endura's at a bargain £17.49 and they are excellent. After 2hrs on the bike yesterday on not very smooth roads there was no sign of the tingling and numbness I was getting before with my ancient Spec gloves. Result! Shame the colour scheme for the gloves is a bit limited!

i have the specialized BG 'gel' gloves which i think are the 'top of the heap' gloves at £24.99 - it was between them and the 'pro' ones which don't have a velcro tightener.

they are quite difficult to get off, mainly because they are quite a snug fit - but once on they are amazingly comfortable - really good fit and with padding in the right places, but more importantly padding removed in just the right places which means it doesn't bunch up when you grip the bar.

best gloves i have ever tried - by miles!

+1 for the Specialized BG Gel gloves. I've just got some after using the Comp version for the last 5 years (which are still going strong). The Gel version is much, much more comfortable and well worth the extra tenner. As GKerr4 says - they are hard to get hold of but worth the effort.

I agree with the Endura FS260 mitts, much more robust than the BG glove.

    +1 for Spesh Comp.

I did a 100 miler with no gloves, I forgot them and guess what I hardly noticed. Just a bit of soreness in lower palm nothing major. Back to gloves now though. Hate too much padding takesaway the feel of the handling.

I've been very impressed with the new Mavic Echapee gloves. Not a lot of padding, but what is there is in exactly the right place.

I like them as much as my Spesh BG gloves (and they were cheaper).

I'm a Pearl Izumi fan as far as gloves go. They seem to me to be the better quality
better fitting ones than most of the rest. The again this could be like a "to each his own
saddle choice" type thing. It's all about what suits YOU.:wink:

whats most durable mitt & minimalist full fingerd glove?

^ I stand by my specialized gel mitt but not had them long enough to confirm durabilty

full fingered - the best gloves I have used are Pearl Izumi (although it pains a campag man to wear ShimaNO products) cyclone gloves like these:

they are good in all but the very coldest weather, comfy and durable (mine lastet three years and only started to come apart after a crash - after which I bought another pair!) and I think can meet your "minimalist" requirement.
