I thought I would share with you my bargain pruchase this week. I popped into my local Tescos and looked around their (Ahem) cycle section. On the shelf they had one of these:
http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-8277.aspx
There was no price under it so I took along to the scan to find price machine and was staggered to discover that it was £1.13. After taking it home and fitting it works perfectly well, seems pretty accurate and with theexception of cadence gives me all the info that I require. I can't say for certain that you will be able to get one for the same price but it has got to be worth a look.

It has got me thinking though. What is your best cycling bargain?

It would seem though that this bargain proved that you get what you pay for as after just doing about 100 miles I had to replace the battery on this. It cost more (1.95) for the replacement battery than it did for the whole thing.

I bought one for the battery alone but it's on the wifes bike now so will see how long it lasts.

You can buy the batts cheaper than that in Tesco surely

If the battery is a 2032 then you can pick 10 up for a quid online at a certain site that has just celebrated 10 years of trading.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.

Well in fairness it was 1.95 for a pack of 2 batteries.

I was wandering round Tesco near Gatwick waiting for a delayed flight to come in when I saw a cycle computer for 19p! I passed up the apparent bargain when I noticed it lacked GPS and cadence.

I got the small LED rear light from Tesco for less than £4.00. Imagine my delight when navigating dark mid-winter rush hour traffic when I found that it switched itself off when going over the smallest bump.

Good tip ref. the light - going to get a Knog Frog to go with the Skink.
Seriously, cheap computers have their place but Sigma have always been the biz for me.
Where was the site selling CR2032s in bulk ?

dunno I went to press one of the buttons and it fell into the road, the only bit I found was the front of the screen so i dont think they would cover it warrenty as theres not much to send back to them

Well try! You don't get if you don't ask, and you may be pleasantly surprised. The only reason they shouldn't stand by their warranty is if they don't believe you, they would be daft to take that approach.
