Where can I see mountain biking on TV?

Hi guys,

I got Sky HD yesterday, what a joy it is. I was flicking throught the channels and found a clip of some downhill MTBing on EurosportHD and it not only reminded me how much I love watching mountain biking on the telly but it looked incredible in HD! I tried looking throught the Europsort listings but found nothing

Does anyone know of any events or anything that might be coming up where I can watch some exhilarating downhill action? it doesn;t have to be in HD but it would be nice.

Cheers!

    Freecaster
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

If you have Sky+ just do what I do and set all the MTB programmes on Rush HD and Eurosport on series record.

They can be on at really random times, so by series recording you can watch all of them whenever you want.

So, did you completely ignore the part about being on TV, preferably in HD then?

Freecaster's great, but SkyHD it is not. And unless you have your computer hooked up to the telly like I have, you have to watch it on your computer.

Well funny you should mention that because as i type it's on a 32" hdtv so no i didn't ignore it, besides he may have means to stream it onto a larger tv. ;)

I used to work in a big Currys superstore, it was really mind numbing but I used to hang around the TV bit all day and look for MTB stuff on sky HD.

I've watched more pro-bull riding than I've had hot dinners but when your stood in a Currys superstore for 8 hours on a quiet day, pro-bull riding is the best TV ever!

    Note; don't work in retail.

Saweet, this series link thing sounds like the way forward. So do I just look through the program listings for some MTB stuff and then series link it, sorry I've been with Virgin all my life and the whole SKY thing is new to me.

Dazzza, thanks for the info on the freecaster stuff but streaming stuff just isn't my bag.

Pro Bull Riding, I could get in to that!

Freecaster on a 32" HD telly must have pixels as big as your hand though.

I'm in the same game as you though, my PC is my TV receiver, I have twin freeview tuners, and use media center to record. It also has all my photos and music on it. Brilliant setup.

Never seen anything on freeview, I know you can download some stuff though. I too have a decent entertainment rig where my PC is connected to the TV via HDMI so I can download / stream and watch it on my telly but the quality has to be right and streaming just isn;t good enough yet to pass any of my standards

I want a HD Mtbing channel...

Eurosport have coverage of most of the WC DH rounds. Next round is Mont-Saint-Anne on the 26.

yeah, it really as is simple as all those people bang on about in the adverts!

just click on the one you want to record, then choose series record and it will record every episode when it's on.

It's helpful if you look on the sports channels right through from say midnight until 7am, because i've found loads of MTB programmes on then. Then just set them to record and watch them once you've got time.

The good thing is, that you only really ever need to find a programme once, then it's on series link so it's always going to be recorded when its on!

Finally got one of those Nomad episoides recorded which was all about some santa cruz mountain bikers riding down some wicked downhill's in vegas...I also managed to download the previous olympics MTB finals in HD so I've got enough to keep me going as well as the Tour De France.

Thanks for your input on this fellas
