Apparently tomorrow (friday 10th july) is Green Britain Day. Pfft I hear you say! But there is an all day Bike Surgery on Castle Street (well, 10 am to 5 pm) being run by Edinburgh Bikes. Same deal as the last one - they'll clean your chain and give your bike a reasonable check up for free. 8)
I'm going to assume there is free stuff as well! They were dead helpful about fixing all the things wrong with my gf's bike at the last one. No mention of breakfast though.
Official bit:
Green Britain Day is a community event dedicated to raising environmental awareness. Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op are proud to support this initiative by offering a Bicycle Surgery service at 2 Green Britain Day venues: Castle Street in Edinburgh and Saltwell Park in Gateshead. Bring your bike along to either venue and an Edinburgh Bicycle mechanic will give your bike the once-over and offer a free chain clean and lube service.
ADDS apparently there will be swap-shop stuff and things as well. Hmm!

Free tha says? Chuffin' Marvellous!
To be honest, my bike it tuned pretty well, but they would insist on telling me things like, "You have a shed load missing teeth on your cassette", "Your rear wheel is slightly out of true", "Jesus, how rusty can a seat post get" and "The welds on both rims are starting to separate". All in all, my bike needs condemning. But I can't get a new one yet, as the C2W carrot is still dangling. Knowing my company, it'll still be dangling in three month's time when my bike is no more than a pile of bits.0 -

Actually, just been over to it (the bike thing not aberdeen). There is one guy from the bike shop, who had a look at my bike and adjusted the gears for me - very very grudgingly I must say. :? It said on the website they'd give your bike a free once over. I was the only bike as well!
There was a swap shop (a bit poor) A strange handicraft stall. Another stall I'm not sure what it was, but the girl was lovely. A stall selling plants, and what was possibly a display of the Worst Taxi Reversing Display Team at the other end of the street. Glad to be alive!
Lovely day though!0
