Hi All
I recently purchased a Rockhopper Comp which i am really enjoying, anyway i purchased it over the internet, can anyone please tell me when the first check up is due i have done about 210 miles, and what is a local shop is likely to charge, the only issue i have is gear changing its not quite as sweet as it should be up or down the gears,i.e. does'nt go in straight away espeically when on the centre front chain ring.
Many Thanks

Usually after about 6 weeks. But, probably all that is required is a re-tensioning of the gear cables. You could try to do this yourself, instructions can be found on the Park Tool website.0

I have the same bike and last week took it back to the LBS I bought it from for the first service after 6 weeks (about 450 miles). Apart from adjusting the gear cables a little and accidentally lubing my front brake (meaning I had to take it back for them to sort out) and checking nothing was coming unscrewed they didn't do anything else I could tell. If I'd known the hassle it would be re: the brake I wouldn't have bothered!
Have now ordered a Haynes manual (The Bike Book) and bought some tools and plan to do as much servicing as possible myself from now on.0
