hope headset

when installing my headset it came with 3 shims think they were 0.7 thick now from what ive read these were something do with getting the cover of the headset piece to right level so it didnt rub?it seemed to fit ok to me without these shims was that a mistake?

    no, i have mine fitted without any shims, ading them will make your upper seal drag less but mine works fine the way it is.

    they are for taking up any slack and positioning the top cap as needed.

    Note AS NEEDED so if you do not need them you dont need them

    Keep them as with new bearings you may need them. Or as the old ones wear in.
