Any long fingered gloves with nice padded palms??

Hi all,

I love my padded mitts, I have several pairs, and find them invaluable for rides in most temperatures.

I also have some super warm 661 gloves, which are very toasty and fine for sub zero conditions, and due to the fact they are warm they coincidentally have adequate padding, and are as comfortable as mitts.

I have some cannondale 'winter' gloves, which are very thin, but do keep the wind off, but they have zero padding, and so for a long ride are anything but comfortable, I can manage with them for commuting though.

This year I have started training in earnest, and will be going out on rides at 6am regularly during the week, which at the moment is fine, when it is nearing double figures, but I know in the coming months it will be around zero or pretty nippy at any rate.

So I need a glove that will fit inbetween the fingerless mitts and the full on 661's.

Is there a long fingered glove out there that has a padded palm like you get on the mitts?

I was toying with the idea of these apparent bargain gloves from Ribble:

Write up
- Windstopper and Windproof Durable fabric
- Long cuffs
- Reinforced Palm
- Fleece lining
- Velcro fastening

But am not sure if they will have totally flat palms, re-inforced plam doesn't suggest it is padded to me.

Any makes/models of glove I should look out for?

or have I got it all wrong, and you actually still wear a mitt, but hjust get a bigger glove to go over the top.....?

Cheers

I have the Specialized BG Gel glove in both mitt form and long fingered. Great glove that I struggle to fault.

I reckon they would be ideal for fitting under a winter glove.

    Hi Bigal,

cheers for the reply, so what do you wear for the autumn days when it is cold but not cold enough, just the Spesh BG gloves, and then slip winter ones on over the top when it is super cold?

I'll check out those gloves now,

    Cheers

I wear the long fingered Specialized up to October/Nov and only when the temp goes down to approx 4 or 5 degress do I change over to full winter gloves. My winter glove is a
Pearl Izumi Inferno which is a lobster type of glove. Some people hate the lobster style of glove as they feel that the fingers are restricted but I personally love the fact that they keep you warm right through the winter. I would suggest that you have a look at www.lobstergloves.com which gives you advice on the different ranges and makes available.

Not sure about these being what you want but seem to be 'summer' gloves and full fingered:
