I found the answer to the mass sulk at Sotonia

I finally found out from the committee at my old club what happened with the imfamous mas sulking at my club, apparently someone complained that I hadnt been been polite to them on a forum and instead of having the balls to speak to me about it, the commitee sent a complaint to an email address that they knew wasn't working.These heros of cycling then sulked rather than saying anything to me and then started a whispering campaign behind my back.
I never knew the club had so many sensitive cowardly souls at the club ,maybe they should take up flower arranging it might suit them better. Next thing you know there will be muttering about how I won't fit in at the racing team, well I think they are made of slightly sterner stuff.

Had this at my last job, in the NHS, apparently the sensitive souls I worked with were all one way or another upset with me and were complaining to my boss (that's if my boss was to believed, but then again I've never worked with someone I've ever felt such a level of distrust towards in such a short space of time), she was telling them to say something to me instead which of course never happened, I only found this out when I made a complaint of bullying against her, which is why I'm off into the Surrey Hills cycling today

Glad I'm out of there now as life's too short, maybe if you are in such a club you would be better off somewhere else too? Who knows what other nonsense will come out, or how you'll be sabotated in so many subtle ways, if that is their approach to their clubmates.

Seems to me you are doing just as bad or worse than your perceived wrong by starting a bad mouthing campaign on a cycling forum.

why make yourself look so bitter, and a bit mental?

I don't think anyone here was aware that the club in question was Sotonia - until now. All you are doing here is just singling yourself out as a bit of a whinging tw@t - if I was you I would button it. No offence...

jezmo i would listen to chuckcork and ignore the others. its not worth being bitter about it, say sorry to them and if after that they are still sulking just leave it at that.

As a Sotonia member this is a puzzle to me and way over the top of my head; I only joined a few months back so presumably said bunfight pre-dates my time with the club. :?

As a Sotonia member, I think that the club members are as mystified by Jez's comments as anyone else. This is even more surprising given that Jez is a novice bike racer and has ridden very few races - perhaps he expected too much too soon.

Sotonia are a well established growing club and in my opinion are extremely friendly and accommodating, but Jez's forum posts were inappropriate and had to stop.

I and others are very sad that he has moved his grievances (about what we have no idea) to another more public forum, and (as with his other posts) don't understand what he aims to achieve by it.

Having said that, I hope he has success in his new club and finds what he is looking for, and hopefully over time can look back on the more positive things he gained from his brief time in Sotonia.

Just to make it clear, these comments are my own and not on behalf of the club.

One thing I would say is that, when you join a new club, don't expect to change it. You (I'm speaking generally here, not specifically to Jezmo), personally may feel like you could improve it 100 fold, but the current members probably like it how it is! Furthermore, whilst you may not realise it if you do come in all guns blazing, you run the risk of stepping on toes.

As another member of Sotonia I have kept out of Jez's moaning about us as he hadn't named the club and I felt he would drop his rant. But apparently not. I can not not stand by and let someone bad-mouth this club.

Your so called impoliteness was in reality a very personal attack on a member of the club, that is not just impolite it is completely out of order, and it wasn't a one off either. And as for whispering behind your back I have no idea what you are on about. That is the ramblings of someone who is paranoid in my opinion. Personally I am glad you are no longer in our club as I find your attitude very poor. You lack teamwork which is precisely what you need when you race. You say Sotonia can't race as a team yet only this week two of our members came 1st and 6th in a race (co-incidently organised by your new club) and both are now 3rd cats. You have entered only 2 races this year and only completed one, and that was a lap down. I suggest that in future you look at your own performances before trying to blame your weeknesses on other people.

I wish you luck in your new club, I just hope you improve your attitude before you alienate them as otherwise you will run out of clubs to join very quickly.
