I think it looks awesome, pure simplicity mate... and for under 200 quid! I have never rode a single speed before though so dont quite know what to expect

Yeah that's exactly my reservation. I notice the geared version is £20 more but ss looks so much better and will suit my zero maintenance approach!

A Carrera single speed. A hybrid single speed.

    Heavens above.

Carrera is a good bike at that price range though.

Nowt wrong with a Carera. Good bike, just shocked to see it in a Single speed varient. If that is the 09/10 model they've changed the frame.

That would make a decent winter hack (strokes chin), I wonder what GI they've put on it? Seeing as though all the halfords road bikes have a 50/36 compact instead of the normal 50/34.

I suspect they thought they'd ask a normal person in the street and bumped into LIT by some freak occurance. :?

    *checks* yup, rack mounts.
    As yet unnamed (Dolan Seta)
    Joelle (Focus Expert SRAM)
  • I own one of those! Bought it as my first commuter

I have had it for around 2 months now, paid £220 for mine from local halfords/bike hut thingy, I love it, really light, fast enough i cruise at around 19-20mph on flat and have seen 30 spinning like a knob!!

All in all a great bike, am going to continue riding it through the winter then in the spring will look to get another SS of higher quality with drops etc for summer :)

I really love it tho, well worth the money!

I don't mind it, just there seems to be a collective dislike of hybrids on the forum and I was waiting for the fallout...
I have 2 hybrids and will be getting another in couple of months..albeit a road bike with a flat bar..as opposed to a mountain bike with big wheels.. :)

    I dont know.

If I was going for a £200 SS bike, I would probably opt for the Specialized Centrum
