With some friends in the Swansea and Cardiff area reporting MTB and Surf Board theft, I wondered if anyone has had any trouble at Afan. I love the place but have not been for a while and would like a heads up.

All good or biker beware?

Where ever there is something, there will be theives to steal it.

It just so happens that, cycling and mountainbiking are getting so much media coverage just lately, that bikes of all shapes and sizes become targeted more and more.

So it's probably not too bad, but leave your car secure as possible, and don't let yor bikes out of your (or your mates!) site!

I've never heard of any, obviously tonnes of high-end bikes about, but lots of riders too. I wouldn't fancy a thieving srcotes chances of getting out alive if they were caught on the rob.

I was in the cafe @ Llandegla when I heard that some poor sod had literally just had his bike nicked from outside the cafe.

Yeah, but so many bikes, it'd be easy to just walk up in a pair of shorts and a helmet and ride off with a few thousand pounds worth of bikes... Sit at a table, wait for someone to arrive and walk in, get up, wander over, ride off.

Bit of a misleading thread title there!
