I want everything..............opinions, loves, hates............warts and all accounts of these machines in your experience

I really need to make a decision imminently on whether to buy a Spicy 516 on the cycle to work scheme. I could get a Zesty 314, but not the model I want (the 514 is sold out). So the Spicy is the other choice. It's better specced, slightly tougher, but is it as fun as the Zesty? I need an all rounder that climbs well and isn't too burly or slow on singletrack. Is the Zesty substantially faster?

I hate being indecisive

It doesn't sound like anybody elses experiences are going to convince you either way so why don't you try and get a ride on the bikes?

I know welovelapierre in Hull have a 514 and 516 in mediums for demoing and they're open till 10pm most nights...Looking at their website they do cycle to work as well.

I'm a shortarse at 5'6 so unfortunately a small (42cm) one is my only option

I'm sorry for asking so many questions, I'll shut up soon when I get one

Why do you keep creating threads.

There is like 3 or 4 on this page about the lapierre from you.

If you ask different question on the one thread, believe it or not people will respond.
  • Have you checked with their UK distribution that they have sold out? I was going to get the 314 but that had sold out, I was then told by Wheelies (who I had to get the bike from) that the 514 had also sold out. I rang the UK distrbutors and they confirmed that the 514 had NOT sold out. There were none in the UK but they were still avail for order. I would ring them if I was you. I can;t remember who they are but I googled it to find out.

Don't worry about starting new threads, it's a big decision and I can vouch for it being stressful!

It's Hotlines, and unfortunately they can't get any more. The 2010 bikes are coming out in about 3 months, but the spec will be lower, and in the spyshots I've seen they don't look as nice. I now have a deposit down on a Spicy 516, and to be honest, I haven't seen anything but praise for them, even in their climbing ability, so fingers crossed she rocks my world :D
  • You will love it!
