Does anyone else experience a problem with movement of the seat post. I have tightened the pin as much as possible and still get play. Both side to side and the actual post slipping down.

Heading back to the bike shop tomorrow, just wondered if others had experienced the same problem. I have also tried a different pin without success!!

  • Yes mine does it, I am blaming the grease that appears to be all over it, I am going to clean it off in the morning.

  • Took it back to Evans Cycles today, they took a look at it and said it was faulty. Replaced it with a Ritchey Comp so will see how that behaves.

Had a similar problem with mine but my mate has a £2K Speciialized and he says he's had a smilar thing so it's not just a problem assocoated with Genesis. I will mention it when it goes back for it's first service though.

I gave mine a clean with some degreaser then some isopropyl and it appears to of improved things a bit.

I've got a Genesis Altitude 00, and the seat used to slip down gradually, over a period of time.

It took me a while to arrive at the correct tightness for the clamp (It always felt that I shouldn't be tightening it any more), but now it's just fine.

If you didn't learn anything today, you weren't paying attention!
