Futureproofing - STi's possible?

Hopefully this is the correct forum...

It comes with bar end shifters with a Tiagra front, and XT "shadow" rear shifters.... If I wanted to upgrade to STi's there wouldn't be a problem would there?
The brakes I think are the road disc versions, so they're set up for road levers (rather than mountain bike, V's), so they should work.
Any help would be useful.
