bib shorts with no (or little) padding - advice?

I have a pair of Sportful bib longs and a pair of Sportful bib shorts (not sure what model).
Both in size Large, the bib longs are thermal and really comfy: stretchy for my rather large thighs, and have very little padding, mostly on the sitbones.
The bib shorts instead have a rather large pad, which tends to scranch up at the front under my penis, trapping it and making it numb. With repeated use they have become so uncomfortable I wear the bib longs whenever the weather is not too hot.
Today I tried a pair of Gore Power bib shorts (which got a 9/10 on roadcyclinguk.com) and they had the same issue as the Sportful.
These are in the £60-70 price range.
Comparing the padding on the bib longs and shorts, it appears obvious that the less padding the better for me.
So I was wondering if anyone can recommend a pair of bib shorts with no or little padding, especially at the front.
I can post pictures of the two pads in this thread so that you can get an idea of what I mean.
I asked in the LBS and the guy said that most bib shorts do come with thicker padding than the bib-longs, so I would struggle to find a good compromise.
I remember when I used to ride my hard-leather saddled race bike with real chammy bib shorts (Castelli) and never had the need for soft pads.
Since my saddle (Selle Italia Filante) comes with (minimal) gel padding anyway, maybe I am better off with no padding at all.
I understand though that the pad is there to absorb moisture so, what can I do?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
You could try my least favourite shorts :?
They are the Edinburgh Bicycle Cooperative own make, £44 now.

My info may be out of date are mine are a few years old but the padding is almost non-existant  The fact that they are £44 suggests that they are no longer the budget model that they used to be.
Maybe someone has more up to date info, anyone?????????????None of the above should be taken seriously, and certainly not personally.0 -

Wish I could try before I buy.
Could you take a picture?
If you don't like them, are you selling them? If I could buy them off you for a tenner or so then I would be able to test them before I buy a new pair.0
