    Emma Pooley still has 1-07 lead after stage 4 with 5 stages remaining. She is becoming quite an accomplished racer.

    Sorry, Bronzie, but isn't that a tad patronising? Would you say that a bloke who had been achieving international wins and placings for the last 3 seasons, achieved a top 10 in both the World RR and TT in 2007, a Silver medal in Beijing in the TT, had 2 World Cup wins, played a key supporting role in Cooke's World Championship win, won the Grande Boucle Feminine................ is "becoming quite an accomplished racer"? Do you not think she has done enough to deserve to be called a top international racer - in fact, one of the best in the World?

    OK - it wasn't meant to be nearly as patronising as it sounds when I read it again.

    I think I was going to put that she is becoming "as accomplished as Nicole Cooke" but I got interrupted at the vital moment.

    There's some excellent coverage of the Giro Donne on this website;

    http://italiancyclingjournal.blogspot.com/

    It includes a diary from an American rider, Emma Mackie, who is a teammate of Lizzie Armistead.
