when I started getting into cycling when I was like 13-14 (34 now) I am sure there was a jersey in the tour that had a patch work of yellow, green and polka dot and possibly red but I may be wrong for the rider who was highest in all categorys ??? I think ?? am I wrong about this or has my brain dug up a deep dark memory that actually is correct ?

The "combined" jersey as modelled here by Hinault - think it was dropped as it was ludicrously confusing as well as an afront to cycling fashion:

I miss the combined jersey, though it always seemed a bit redundant, like the InterGiro.

Still say the strangest - not to say most sexist - cycling prize was the 'Gants d'Or' awarded to the most 'elegant' rider in the Grande Boucle Feminine

I actually bought the combined jersey many years ago, I quite liked it.
I've still got it tucked away in the bottom of a drawer at home.
