if it is a quill stem then a lbs might have one lying around in your size (you can't ride your bike without one)

if it is an ahead stem then any old bolt of the right dimensions will do (and they are not needed to ride the bike).

    Once the stem clamp bolts are done up, the top cap / expander bolt serve no mechanical purpose (apart from keeping rain out of the steerer) so you don't strictly need to sort it out before your 70 miles on Friday.

    You could mimic the VW beetle and put a small posy of flowers in there.
