tonsillitis? I seem to have randomly picked it up in the night, my parents seem to think that is what it is but I thought not until I checked the symptoms, but apparently it can quickly go away, but if it ain't by tomorrow is it ok if I cycle with it?

I usually don't ride with a sore throat because the hard breathing aggravates it and makes it uncomfortable, but I was advised too that heavy breathing with an upper respiratory tract infection can cause the infection to spread further down into your lungs, along with hard exercise lowering your immune system.

But then I'm not a doctor.

    +1

Best not to make it any worse. Hope it soon clears up.

Mate I suffered with tonsilitis fpr years until they were removed, if you have it then you wouldn't even be able to move, well at least that's what it did to me. I would be off work/school for 2-3 weeks and just stuck in bed all that time with no energy to do anything.

I would go get it checked out by a Doc as well.

As already said, if it is tonsilitis then you won't be able to ride (nor would you want to). If it's a sore throat, I'd give it a day or two rest and see how things go.
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

I dont know what it was, my throat was sore all the way down, when I swallowed a slightly worse pain followed the food down so I could track whatever was going down, neck was stiff, felt like someone was crushing the front, maybe something was swollen, but I woke up today and it's gone?

I did 175 miles on the bike on Sunday I wonder if that is what caused the problems, just something caused by stressing the body.

175 miles? Everything should be sore, not just your throat! You didn't inadvertently swallow a bumble bee during the ride?
