Hey guys,

I have my heart set on a Boardman Team Carbon, as its affordable, looks good, has had good reviews and im just getting to know a bit about bikes and the components. That said, what bike would you reccomend for a 1k. This being the limit I can/would like to spend at this stage. Theres a bit of a waiting list for the Boardman, but that aside, i can wait, but just wanted to be sure there was no other alternatives that i was possibly overlooking!

Cheers TT

** sorry, i know this question probably is asked a lot...;-)

The only other carbon fibre bike I would consider at 1k would be the Orbea Onix Bira (well £1099) from Epic

    Zeus Ziccs AC Carbon forks
    Shimano 105 groupset
    Shimano R500 compact chainset
    Orbea pro Silver brake callipers
    Shimano 500 clincher wheelset
    Vittoria Zafiro tyres
Zeus Cat I stem and handlebars
    Zeus carbon seatpost
    Orbea XR Transam saddle

They also sell it with Full Tiagra (for £999).

Pros of the Orbea against the CBoardman: Lifetime warranty on the frame, good service from Epic Cycles, you can choose paint scheme, Orbea's racing pedigree (founded in 1926)
Against: Rival is superior to 105, IMO Ritchey finishing kit is slightly better than Orbea's but not much difference, cheaper by £100.

For me the lifetime warranty makes the Orbea a winner though.[/url]
