Anyone know of a decent insurance company that offer good cover for bikes too?

If so, who are they and have you ever had to claim?

Yup, we're with the Halifax too, all 4 bikes listed as separate items with specified values.

I'm with Nationwide (Churchill). All my bikes specifically listed and insured away from home. I pay a little extra which works out at something like £60 per annum IIRC. I heard a few months ago via the Times money pages that M&S were doing a home insurance contents policy that automatically included bikes without listing them individually up to value of £4k!
Life is like a roll of toilet paper; long and useful, but always ends at the wrong moment. Anon.

M&S home insurance - All bikes covered upto 4K each :)
Never claimed for a bike, but have made claim (leaky pipe) & it was no hassle at all. Very good home insurance policy too! (no I don't work there  )

    From the M&S website :-
    Do you insure bicycles?
Yes, and you do not need to specially mention a bicycle unless it is valued at £4000 or more.

The Contents section will cover your bicycles when it is in your home, an outbuilding or in your garden. The Cover Away From Home section of the policy will provide worldwide cover when they are temporarily removed from your home, including being taken abroad.

We're with 'Sheila's Wheels' which is just a Halifax policy by another name but about half the price.
