I've seen plenty of people who are jumping on the MB bandwagon, buying into the sport. Used to live with a guy who rode a Whyte 46 and he couldn't 'ride' in a manner that befitted a 6" travel bike, but it made him feel good. They lack a lot of the basics and they haven't developed an ability to really use those kind of bikes. As someone else in this thread said, these bikes allow you to do more than you are capable of handling - and watching this guy ride was cringe-worthy. He only survived hurting himself for how slow he rode!
I agree with others who have said that these bikes give you a false sense of achievement which can be dangerous.
That's why I think everyone should start on a crapper - you learn the important stuff here.

    Ahmen! +1

Patrick changed my life man. Point break taught me about how live life, road house taught me how to fight and dirty dancing...well, anyway.....Patrick is the font of all wisdom and his performances are masterpeices.

Seriously though, Point Break & Roadhouse are a really good laugh, I agree.

Edit. Here is some his wisdom...

    absolutely correct.

I went to see it at the cinema (an arthouse type cinema) just a few months ago. It's great on the big screen.

I must have watched it 20 times on DVD/Video, but that was the first time in the cinema.

Visually, it has to be one of the most amazing films ever made.

it does still look really modern i think. i watched predator t'other night too and its over 20 years old but looks as good as any modern film.

back on topic: 120mm = correct trail bike travel

everyone should learn to ride on a crap bike = worst. advice. ever.

yeti 575 with 140mm solid axle fork is pretty much described in every review as the ultimate trail bike, so guess that does it for me and i still slaughter my mate on his fuel ex9 on the ups.down and twistys.
