Good day to you all!

I have a Giant xtc 4.5 with Dart2 forks. I am looking to upgrade these to tackle more aggressive riding! So i was looking at the Tora 130mm forks. Does anyone know if this will affect the bike at all?
I am doing this as I can't afford a new bike, but want to be able to enjoy some light DH and rootier trails!

Some bikes you can get away with longer forks, but that's a fair difference and XTCs are pretty XC by design... Partly meaning short travel and steep, but also meaning not enormously strong. Maybe it'll be strong enough, maybe it'll ride OK but it's a big maybe. Personally I wouldn't throw money at a maybe like that.

id say it was a very huge maybe, not worth it. if you want more travel and harder riding you need a new bike im afraid, the xtc, as good as it is, is very much a racey xc bike.

lol, yeah, i can see what you mean! a new bike is drastic, what about going for some tougher, harder, better controled forks, of the same travel, sometimes its the quality, not the quantity, whats the budget? and is the xct running 80 or 100mm right now, if you let me now, ill have a look for bargains for you!

Budget wise..... well the tora i was looking at is 170 cheapest on a bike site but cheaper(considerably) on ebay! So i guess anything around that margin...obviously dont want to spend too much considering the bike.
