'Ello, I've just bought the above pedals, they are my first ever clippy things and they were REALLY cheap. Are they actually any good at all?

I look forward to regaling you all with tales of failed track-stands and clippless moments. :D

Came as standard on my Jake. Worked totally trouble free for the last 15months. I've just taken them off (replaced with M520) until I can figure out how to get inside and adjust and regrease them. Once that is done I'll be keeping them as spares

Hopefully not too many. Unless you are really lucky some are inevitable. My most embarrassing was keeling over just outside the office (and that was after years of clipless riding) :D

  • Thanks Mudcovered, sounds like it was £16 well eBayed then. Quite looking forward to trying them out.

Shimano SPDs tend to be fairly solid throughout the range.

Going up the range tends to save a bit of weight and improve mud shedding abilities.

I almost had my first clipless moment since my return to cycling in late 2006. It wasn't my fault though, some idiot pedestrian ran slap into the side of me, he had started to cross, a car had stopped to let him through, so he broke into a jog to get through the traffic, however I was cycling on the other side of the car and he didn't bother to check for traffic other than the car and ran straight into me. I managed to keep my balance... Just. Good thing for him I wasn't on some hefty motorbike whizzing along or I might have done him some damage....
