Hi All,

I am about to upgrade my old 2004 Kona Kikapu to a modern Freeride bike.

I am looking to buy in the £1500 range

I am at the moment looking at either the Specialized Enduro or the Giant Reign 2 both 09 models. I know the 10s will be out soon but have been given word by a mate who thinks he is in the know that the Giants will have a price rise this time around.

The Reign2 is £1450 and I can get an FSR Comp for £1600.

I am a short arse rider at 5ft 1.

Any opinions on ay of these bikes ?

Cheers

Shorty

Both bikes are much more AM than FR, will they be burley enough for what you need?

Afraid the only way to tell which is best is to ride them (and both are likely to see a price rise or downgrade next year. 2010 Enduro frame is a bit marmite too).

Hi GHill, to be honest I am going for a bike that fits in with what the rest of the lads have got I ride with. They have all gone for 6inch travel models this year which has meant me beating them on the climb and them kicking my arse on the downhill. Most of them have enduros but I quite like the look of the reign.

Fair do's, both bikes should be a lot of fun on the downhill side of things. If you haven't seen next year's Enduro design, this is the top of the line S-Works:

To me it looks a bit busy and resembles a farmers gate. To others it looks ace (hence the marmite comment).
