As this is the Marmotte video posting thread I'll add my own. I had the camera mounted to my handlebar so it has Glandon & Galibier descents. My desperate but successful sprint for gold time starts at 13:45 complete with authentic panting. Apologies it's a little longer than Russell's & includes a some pics of my kids at the end but that's the proud Dad for you.

Pete - you appear at about 5mins 45s in. I'll try to send you a separate file of your potty mouth and any pics I have.

Pics from the day are here:

  • Excellent film, Dan, and well done on the gold time Great result.

I can't film on the descents as I hold the camera in my hand - it has to be a long straight without too many riders for me to do that. As a proud dad as well, I enjoyed the little ones.

    Cheers, Russell

    Dan,

Great vid. Gives back great memories (?). And excellent effort to climb AdH in <1:20 for Gold.

I have updated my videos, added some more and put on a soundtrack:

Excellent film Dan, all the better for a cameo apperance by yours truely near the top of the Galibier (in the Peugeot kit). Thanks for posting it. I spoke to you at the end whilst we waiting for certificates, the lady computer opperator had wondered off just as I got to the front of the queue.

It seems ages ago now, but the video brought back many happy memories. I've just watched it the whole way through with a smiled and a large glass of red, not berry flavoured energy drink this time! :D

    Thanks chaps.

Rich - I read your blogs from this & last year. You'll get gold easily next year. I do a fair bit of riding round Richmond Park so we'll have to get out sometime when you come out of your post-Marmotte break! I was really pleased with 1:16 on the Alpe which included a drinks refill at the bottom from my family.

Term1te - I remember the Peugeot kit, very classy. I can send you a short clip of your video appearance near the top of Galibier if interested.

I have a written summary of my ride here:
