OK, that could look either really cool, or it could flop spectacularly and look really naff. We'll find out on Thursday.

Its a crowd participation thing using what looks like yellow carboard to create a mexican wave type thing as the peleton goes by. Click the little videeo panel it shows you on there.
Gasping - but somehow still alive !

that looks cool. I'm looking forward to seeing it. surely it'll work out - it ain't complicated, and those instructions are simple enough to be printed on the back of the cards.

should be great. better than attacking the riders with big pmu hands and standing in their way waving cameras!

This is a mostly flat stage, so unless there's a breakaway it would normally favour the sprinters, but the finishing last km is pretty twisty and narrow in places, with a short uphill kick in the end, which may well scupper the plans of a number of the sprinters teams.

Personally, I'd be pretty concerned about the sharp turn at Placa de Espana.

This is not a flat stage, it's quite hilly, especially the coastal route around Tossa and Lloret, also very narrow and curving. Ideal for a breakaway.
The bend at Placa Espana is very sharp, but the road is so enormously wide there, like the Champs-Elysees, that it won't be a problem.
The climb up is not the steep side of Montjuic, but still a serious incline for a kilometer or so. With a nice bit of fresh smooth tarmac :).
I'm in Barcelona now and will be next Thursday, and they're doing a good bit of promotional work for the event; it'll be very very busy. I think the wave plan could work, but of course you can only see it from helicopter shots.....
