Me and a friend are planning a road trip in france for 10 days. We're looking for some nice Downhill / Singletrack stuff to ride over there. We're planning to make our way Calais to the alps and back again in those 10 days, and would like some places to stop and ride in between the two destinations.

Also looking for, well as much information as possible really, places to stay, things to see, places to ride being the most important though.
If anyone can get us some information on anything it would be highly appriciated.
We're fairly compitent riders, I ride a Kona Stinky and my friends rides a Specialised Big Hit, so bikes that can take a fair amount of abuse, just so you know what kind of trials we're looking for.

As much information on the places would be sweet, specially postcodes or co-ordinates or what not so we can look them up on googles maps or something.

Any info trails, skateparks (possibley), good camp sites or bike friendly hotels, bikes shops, or awesome highly interesting places to stop would be muchly appriciated.

Cheers, Andy

Just returned from Les arcs this week and had an amazing time. The amount of trails on offer here are unbelievable, and the scale of the descents needs to be seen.

We were looking for Downhill and epic single track descents and that’s what we found. We had a guide for one day which was well worth it, and he showed us the most amazing unmarked routes, were we descending for over an hour at a time which was seriously hard work but one of the best things I've ever done.

There are about 3 marked downhill style runs plus loads of marked technical of single track descents to keep you going for a week.

I rode my SX Trail II, and my mate used his Trek Session 88.

We stayed at the chill chalet in Bourg, which included breakfast, evening meal, wine and beer for £55 per night, a really good place and good value considering how much eating out will cost you.

We've been to Morzine and Les gets which are awesome but dare I say it Les Arcs was possibly even better!!! (and not full of us brits) Go there!!
