newer 105 vs old Ultegra

My ca. 1998 Ultegra 9spd RH STI lever gave up the ghost recently with the shifter going all to pot. It turns out you can't buy one on its own so I'm stuck with having to buy a new pair. As I'm 9 speed my choice is limited to new budget stuff or older comparable equipment. I've found a set of 105's for £153 but the Ultegra is over £200! Is worth the extra? (The rest of my kit is all Ultegra albeit older)

you could swop to Sora 9 speed. I use them on my winter bike and I find them excellent.
