Sportives and Time Trial bikes

Hi,
I'm just wondering if turning up to a sportive on a flattish course with a time trial bike is a real no-no and something, which, if I did so, would cause me to receive a lot of abuse as I cycled the course
Thanks
Paul

I seem to remember someone on one during London to Southend last year.
I was going to shout some abuse at him but he was out of sight before I thought of something cutting enough to say.0 -
I always thought that sportives being mass start events (like normal races) that tri-bars/extensions/TTbikes are banned. This was definitely the case for the Dragon ride. Saying that I did see others with them on even though it explicitly said in the rules that they were banned.
If someone was in the same group as me with tri-bars id give them a shouting at......highly stupid. There is a reason that they are banned in mass-start events.0
