I'm off to Montreal to buy a bike

Work have been kind enough to offer to fly me to Montreal for a meeting.
I was originally going to buy a new laptop whilst I was there saving myself ~£150 on the UK retail price - But then I thought what about a new road bike.......
I had a quick look through the usual Google results and dealers linked from the Specialized website but savings don't seem to as good as I was going to get on my laptop.
Anyone got any good recommendations of either bike shops in Montreal or a specific make (US manufactured perhaps?) which might give me a good deal? I'm not sure I can get one delivered from an online retailer the hotel via DHL but I guess it is an option!
Many thanks
p.s. To narrow down the results I'm probably looking sub £500

This doesn't answer your question, but if you are in Canada, check out Mountain Equipment Coop for accessories and clothing - it's a great shop!

For something less than £500 value it seems a lot of hassle, I'd also be concerned about warranty validity.0

And the VAT/Import duty tooThere's no such thing as too old.0

If cost were not a factor I would look at the two big Montreal bike makers::
Marinoni
Argon 18
As well as their bikes, you could also check out the Louis Garneau line of clothing/helmets..
Otherwise you may as well stay with UK domestic.0
