Bike shop recommendation - London/Surrey

Hello all!

I'm after some recommendations of good bike shops please as my Cycle2Work benefit is due to be renewed.

I'm looking to get a decent road bike, last year I bought a Giant 4.5 XtC from Cycle Surgery and put road tyres on it and whilst the service from CS was fine, it's been suggested to me to go to a local bike shop for more specialist advice. Condor Cycles and Pearson Cycles are the two suggestions so far.

I'm looking for a pure road bike as my commute is 25 miles each way from Redhill.

Thanks in advance.

:)

I'm in Lancashire and got a bike from De Ver cycles. They were excellent and managed to get it up here in one piece. :) The owner is a former professional cyclist I believe.

If you can get to Croydon then GB Cycles (Geoffrey Butler Cycles) are good.

Ignore the atrocious layout/design of their website, it does them no credit. They also have a sister shop (with a similarly poor website) called Bike Plus which isn't quite as dedicated to high-end road bikes.

I would also recommend Pearsons, I've just bought my first road bike from them and they were brilliant.

    +1 Pearson.

Guy Pearson is very helpful as is a young chap there called Matt. Excellent customer service and a good range.

  • Thanks very much for the replies folks and my apologies it's taken me so long to log on and say so. :)

A couple of people I work with rate Pearson's too but I think I'll try a few of the other suggestions before committing.

    Thanks again. :)
