Hi everyone, i've recently got back into biking and have a rigid MTB but in my youth I had a raleigh Equipe.... yes not the best bike of it's time but when your 16 and have been saving your money ages it was the best thing i'd ever bought or owned. It was the last of the equipe's I think before it was phased out (mint green and white).

Sadly the bike was stolen about a year and a half after I bought it. things moved on and I got older etc etc and now being 34 I have a need to get a mint green and white equipe (sentimentalilty more than anything) but I could do serious miles quickly on it.

Anyway, would anyone have a scan or copy of the original manual for this bike for when I pick one up (which should be shortly). I have a good knowledge of bike repair etc but it would be good to know original specs etc for replacements.

Cheers

  • Hah!

Get in! It took a while to find reasonable condition Equipe in the right colour with minimal problems but now i'm picking it up hopefully tomorrow.

Don't suppose anyone has any further details on the bike than already posted??

    Cheers

  • And here it is before I start work on it, picked it up today.

    Equipe.jpg

Needs a new post and saddle, bar tape, front wheel trued, new brake lines and and damn good clean but is identical to the one I bought new in 1992. Can't wait to start work on it. There will no doubt be a few upgrades here and there but until something breaks i'm going to keep it as original as I can.

Anyone know where I can replacement stickers for it or find colour codes?

    Cheers

    Ebay for decals, or, http://www.hlloydcycles.com

As for paint codes, I'm not sure, other than getting in contact with Argos in Bob Jackson or another frame refinisher. You might have to do it by eye!

It's a nice looking bike. I remember my new football boots and school bag having exactly the same colour scheme in around 1992!
  • Thanks for that. I had alook through the list but the bike wasn't listed. Perhaps I'll take a pic close up and email them see what they could do.

    Thanks though :D
