I'm going to menorca later this week and taking the bike, my bike has a lock out on the suspension both front and rear which I have never felt the need to operate, since some of my cycling will be on the road I think I will probably use the lock out, which brings me to my point. Do I operate the lock out before I get onto the bike or once It's under load.

Makes no odds on my Tora fork and X-Fusion shock - you can flick between the two as you go.

If the fork is compressed when you lock it out, the next time it extends it simply won't compress again.
You only need two tools: WD40 and Duck Tape.
If it doesn't move and should, use the WD40.
If it shouldn't move and does, use the tape.

Cheers Daz as you may have guessed my knowledge of matters mechanical leaves a lot to be desired as the very nice chap in the LBS deals with that type of thing.
