Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum and have kinda picked up the MTB bug after a few years away. I'm keen to replace my Jucy 5 front brake with a Mono M4 to match the one i have on the back.

Just need to double check, is there anything in particular i need to be careful of? i seem to remember something about different number calipers, or is that just to differentiate between the front and the back?

Cheers for your help all :D

What mounts does the revelation have, IS or POST?

    bolt straight on.

or you need an adaptor or not.

more info needed what caliper (year) so we know the fitting. then you will need the correct number caliper for whatever disc size you want if both the fork and caliper are IS mount.

if the caliper is Post mount and the fork IS you will need an adaptor for the disc size you want.

so what are you trying to do.

I don't have the caliper yet so i can't give you a year, it'll be the Mono M4 with the gold bore caps though. Will probably end up getting one second hand from fleabay or this forum if i can find one.

Am i right in asuming that so long as the caliper's IS mount like my forks it'll be ok and won't require an adaptor?

Does the caliper number refer to the disk size then?

    Thanks

the mono M4 with the gold caps come in bot post and IS.

if you are buying new just tell them what you want IE a 180mm dsic and it is going on a rev with IS mounts.

if buying used ask the sell what it is.

there are links in the tech links sticky above to hope caliper size tables.
