Got one of these fitted to the road bike (but I MTB a lot more!) - seems pretty good but it kept resetting itself yesterday when I stopped - the overall trip mileage remained on "Dist 2" but average speed, max speed and distance on Dist 1 reset the two times I stopped. Do you just have to keep going or is there a way of having it not reset if you stop?!

Cheers all!

It should only reset if you keep it pressed for a few seconds, "dist 2" can be reset without affecting dist 1,av/max speed, time...sounds faulty/check battery..mines never reset itself.

Stu - will do. It was odd that dist 2 was logging the overall mileage yet dist 1/average and max speed reset twice each time I stopped. Suggests the battery is fine?

You sure you're not somehow inadvertantly holding the unit down so it resets itself? Dst2 will only reset if you're in that mode when the hold the button (unit) down. I've reset mine a couple of times when unclipping it from the bike as you have to press it down for it to unclip easier, so it's easily done.

GTI - I don't think so but will try that out.

The odd thing is that Dist 2 isn't resetting - Dist 1 is. And what's Dist 2 actually for?!

Dist 2 is for overall mileage, so if you are doing a multi day trip you could use dist 2 to record total mileage but use dist 1 for each and then reset for the next day.

Only time I've had unwanted resets is when I've been pushing the bike holding the stem (which is where mine are mounted), usually when opening gates etc. I've got 3 and they are all pretty reliable, better than previous units and they don't seem to suffer interference either.
It's easier to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

    I've bought a new bike....ouch - result
    Can I buy a new bike?...No - no result

It was faulty - now replaced! Kept resetting every time the wheels stopped - not handy!
    Now seems fine again.
