Hi all,

I'm new to this road bike lark so you may get some stupid questions over the coming weeks. Anyway, I've inherited this bike from my Dad:

I think it's from about 2000/2001; it has a Campagnolo Mirage groupset, and the wheels describe themselve as Mavic MA3 (I think- the label's peeling). Basically, can anyone tell me the name of my bike, and is it any good*?

Thanks

p.s. Yes, I will be changing the pedals. And probably the saddle.

*Obviously I know this is a slightly stupid question as the real answer to this is 'does it do what you want it to do, do you fit on it, and do you like it?' But still, any outside opinions are appreciated.

Can't comment on the quality of the bike, after all it is 9 years old and would depend on how well it's been looked after.

As you are new to road riding I would suggest that you tighten everything up on the bike, pump up the tyres, check the brakes and just get out there. After a week I guarantee you will have caught the bug and can then decide whether the bike is the right size for you or if you want to buy a newer one.
