I did a 100 mile bike ride over the weekend...the Chiltern Challenge....took me 9 hours of which 7hr 50 mins was cycling time...average speed 12.8mph,....

i didnt like it when i was being overtaken by riders along the way!! How do i get to ride as fast as them>>> how do they train??

Heeeeeeeeeelp!

Train not just ride in a structured way! Went from fatty totally incapable of a century to a 5 hour 17 min one in 12 months. You just gotta want it enough!

What you really need is a bykiatrist, they wont help uphill but if you get high enough they are great at bringing you down gently.

We all get overtaken by someone. Don't worry about it. Just ride more and do some shorter but faster rides as well. You can start to look at structured training when you are a bit faster and know more what sort of ride you will be doing most.
