8 speed road cassette - any alternative to a SRAM 850?

8 speeds already seem like an anachronism, even though my bike is only 18 months old, I have no objections to the SRAM article, but would just like to know if that is all I can get at a £30 ish price point with low weight and good longevity (the shimano HG 50-8 that came with it is 100g heavier so not attractive!)

Edited to say having posted this I double checked and despite the spec of my bike saying HG50-8 (hence assumption of 8 speed) it is in fact a 9! So the world is my oyster
