hey
so was heading home after work today, powering out of a corner fairly fast and the chain fell of the chainring,
is this a symptom of the chain being to slack
could moving the wheel slightly back abit help or remove a few links?
its a single speed tricross, all stock kit.

Sounds like you need to take up the chain slack, you should have room in the drop out to do this if haven't done so before.0

Bet when you look you will find that the rear wheel has moved forward. My singlecross used to do the same. I blame the little tin drop out protectors as I feel that they don't allow a good "fit" for the nut. Having said that I put a QR axle in so that I can swap gears and it' doesn't do that now. The old Shimano QR is a different shape to the original nut and grips better. Anyway check there first. I actually have used a wedge of wood to force the wheel right back as far as it will go. gets the chain just right. If it persists get a chain tug.0

update,
so took the bike to lbs, they shifted it back abit.
was heading to work the next day and it would appear they didnt tighten the bolts enough lol. was pulling away from a set of lights and felt a slight tugging feeling coming from the back, the wheel ended up locked into the frame.
didnt have the right tool on me to fix it, but luckily it happened outside kwikfit so borrowed a tool and dragged the wheel out and fixed it up.
after that the chain jumped of the sprocket every time i went over a pot hole or put any form of power through the pedels......
anyone had these sort of problems with Singlespeed tricrosses?

Buy and use a chain tug to hold the wheel from slipping forward.
Stop being so strong, get weaker!!
Always, but always carry a spanner, how else does one change a puncture? (or get a Jethro Tule- good bit of kit)The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it.
