Morning All
I just gone to get ready for evening ride and discovered that I'd not cleaned my bladder properly from the other day and its rather nasty in there now
I seem to remember that there as a small feature on cleaning it out with Miltons fluid recently but cant find the issue in question. I have some Miltons but unsure of how much to use?

it would of done were it not for the label having come away at the useful helpful part, kinda been one of those days lol Will mix up 15ml to couple of litres & give it a soak.0

I did the same thing yesterday, went to use it and it was well grubbed up after not cleaning it 2 day's ago! Like you say, wash it in a bit of milton and see how it is then.
Ended up riding yesterday with just a 500ml bottle - had to cut it short coz I was way too thirsty in that heat
Lesson learnedhttp://i556.photobucket.com/albums/ss9/ ... lurLT2.jpg

we get a camel back issued to us at work which is amazing, you can unfasten the bladder so you can get your whole hand in there to give it a wash out. do any of the normal camelbacks do this?
edit: it is made by source.0 -
Hmm, I can't get my hand in mine properly! It has a circular opening, probably about 3 and a half inches diametre - I normally use a bottle brush so give it a good scrub!http://i556.photobucket.com/albums/ss9/ ... lurLT2.jpg

the source ones have a slide lock thing at the top which allows you to open the bladder fully (as well as the normal round screw down filling cap). tis a very good idea and makes cleaning a breeze if you do accidentaly turn in to a grot and forget to clean it out.0

I can fit my hand into my bladder but its a bit of a squeeze0

having a handy flap sounds quite useful too0

i use my 3 ltr one every day. i rinse it then bang it strate in the freezer. not had a problem with mine yet0

Oh, I like the idea of the slide opening - sounds much easier than mine, when mine get's fully wrecked, I'll be looking out for one of themhttp://i556.photobucket.com/albums/ss9/ ... lurLT2.jpg

here is what it looks like and the same system is available all over the place, seems like a much better idea than regular camelbacks.:
this must be my least interesting post ever!!0 -
True, but I'm sold!
Thanks for letting us know there are better bladders out there, your good deed for the dayhttp://i556.photobucket.com/albums/ss9/ ... lurLT2.jpg

I have one of those, but a 3ltr without the screw top, and think it is bloody brilliant. So much easier to fill and clean.0

i use a couple of caps full of actibacterial mouthwash, such as listerine!! dilute it waith water and swill the bladder out then dry it, works a treat!!0
-
I just drink vodka on my rides. No problems!Boo-yah mofo
Sick to the power of rad
Fix it 'till it's broke0 -
Keep it in the freezer (empty obviously) for none of that mouldy ming!0

I'll give the freezer thing a go tomorrow once my bladders all dried out. I got a couple of packets of silica gel crystals that came with some computer parts, in a nice foil sleeve, which I put in to help.0
