Difficult to say due to the course. Which 10 course do you use?

The Lower Withington course which is just under two laps of the road race circuit. Used to be used for the TLI SPOCO series and my best on that course was a minute slower than on JC5. The latter is rolling but has the gift downhill start. The Lower Withington circuit is just hard with a road surface in parts that could loosen your teeth.

Would have thought that power would depend on size, weight, aero position etc.

Just a rough guide Dave, I was quite surprised at the power output at the end on Wednesday! (Thought that sort of time would be more like 250-260 Watts on a still day).

The Manc Wheelers course would be very skewed due to the accelerations needed out of all the junctions.

But, as you say, there are so many variables!

According to a basic bike calculator (this is pretty basic) I would have to do about 335 Watts to get the same result if I was in the drops on a road bike...

true, but its good to know that if you can do a good time there then you'll fly on a quick course. I want a loooong 25 before the end of the season. [knee permitting!]

Hey nathan, i know exactly what you mean, DONT worry, we all HAVE TO START SOMEWHERE> its a fact. i live in grimsby about 20 mins away from you and im in lindsey roads, we do a TT or race every tuesaday , might be a bit far for you to come down but if your free tommorow, there is a local meet at brigsley village hall, just a casual chat and discusion group. i am relitavley new there, but we encourage anyone and everyone to join and cycle.. the veterans are always keen on giving advice. and like the other guys say, u dont need a starting point of fitness. just come down and see if you fancy having a go at a race and then want to further your interest
