just been out shopping in exeter with the wifey and popped into a couple of cycle shops she only went ahead and bought me a new helmet and has agreed to buy me a new bike for my birthday.

    aahhh, the girlfriend/wife/bird. a wonderful invention indeed.

    mine is the sole reason for my spending adiction, she always tells me to buy the next version up of something as she knows it will make me happy. i like to beleive she is always right

    my wife ain't so happy with me today, something to do with throwing my motorbike down the road? But she did pay towards my Boardman FS Team for my bithday in May (which Halfords still haven't bloody had delivered).

    my lass hates me going out dhin, mainly after i hit a 25ft step down in the park using a rock as a take off and landing very sideways :lol: but she lets me buy new bits for it long as i get her something every now and then

    Condoms come in packs of 3, 6 and 12 for good reason.

    3 packs for the single bloke who pulls at the weekend, one for Friday, Saturday and sunday.

    6 packs for the guy with a girlfriend, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat. (Sunday is day of rest)

    Just a quick question. When looking to purchase / rent or loan one of these girlfriend things. Is sizing as important as with a good mountain bike? Is the frame size going to have a beneficial or detrimental effect with regards to the performance and fun factor.
    The wife is great but I was wondering if anyone knew where they did test ride days or shops that did a loan for the afternoon / weekend.
    Really looking foreward to the answers and advice.

    I reckon you should always go down a size if you want them to be more nimble and responsive lmao :D

    I'm sure you can rent one for the weekend, but it will cost a bit, and i'm not sure how legal it would be lol

    Amsterdam is apparenty quite good for testing frame size but from what i've been told, the quality of the actual ride is quite poor.

    Germany has alot of good testing facilities and the ride quality is much higher, so i've been told.

    Been thinking.
    Holland too flat to get the most out of the ride.
    Thyland is too warm and you never really know that the specialized your riding actually started its life as that brand.
    Germany sounds OK but i had a look and lots of the frames looked too large for my liking.
    Anywhere else i should consider.

    These girlfriends, do they mind if you disappear every sunday from dawn til dusk and then come home covered in mud and stinking of sweat? Do they mind if you refuse to go out on a Saturday as you want to be in peak condition for the aforementioned? Do they mind if you spend all Saturday in the kitchen wrestling with some particularly tight beads and a bottle of sealant? Do they mind if you spend the remainder of the time on CRC's website deciding what shiny bike bits you're going to buy next?

    Doesn't mind me resting the day before.

    As long as she can watch tv, she'll happily wait for me to fix/fiddle with the MTB.

    She's started to get annoyed with me being on BR and CRC so much (got bad when I built my bike) but tis ok now :lol:
