Old bike.

Recently bought a new Cannondale Rush to kick start me back into MTB'ing.

Thought you might like to see a pic of my old bike which the wife is now using

It's a Carrera Quattro Pro. Probably about 12-15yr old now but still in pretty good condition. All original apart from the saddle which has been changed at the demand of my missus!

    Woh is that a Girvin Flex Stem? Oldskool ;)

    Looking at it again I may be wrong & it's a flower in the background that makes it look like an elastomer in the stem.

    No you're right it's a Girvin flex stem!!!! :shock:

    Every time I see an old rigid MTB these days I have a sudden urge to turn it into a single speed. You owe it to yourself.

    Now thats what i call a mountain bike, a groupset i actually know as its all changed in the time ive been away lol


    Ill take a guess at the groupset being, 95 LX or XT, girvin flexstem with a 'hard' elastomer and possibly tranz-x barends due to the shape/sweep of them!


    Edit, is that a set of panaracer smoke tyres too, although the rear looks like it may be a tioga psycho II

    Full XT groupset. Both tyres are "Smokes" (sidewalls are a little cracked and need replacing). Correct about the flex stem and the bar ends. Bike has been laid up for about 10years so is in really good nick. Everyhting works just like it did when it was new.

    Woo go me, shows how long ive been out of the scene and a lot has changed in that time too, bike looks cool though although ive not actually seen a carrera that shape as it looks very much like an old alpinestars!
